Patient Reviews

My daughters (9yo and 6yo) saw Dr. Alvarez for their annual wellness visit yesterday, even though she has not been our usual provider. She maintained a conversational tone with my children and asked about their interests and activities. She showed genuine interest in what they had to say. She took the time to explain to my daughters each step of her physical examination and why it was important. She was also purposeful to ask for their consent prior to viewing the pubic area and to discuss with them the only reason it was okay for her to examine the area was because she is a physician *and* because their mother was present and said it was okay. She emphasized to them it is not okay for anyone else to look at or touch their private parts. My daughters were comfortable talking to her and she kept her focus on them. When I asked for additional information to share with my older daughter about puberty, she went out of her way to provide me with online resources to continue having an ongoing conversation at home. She told my older daughter if she ever had any concerns or curiosities, then it was okay for her to ask her mother or her pediatrician any questions without fear or embarrassment. I was very impressed!

Dr. Alvarez is an amazing addition to NFP. She was incredibly patient, thorough and attentive. She was able to refer us to several outstanding Drs that as a team helped solve our little girls issue.
